Our History

FNB has been serving the needs of
people just like you since 1900.

The Bank of Scottsboro was officially organized in 1900 by Scottsboro, Alabama native Mr. J.W. Gay, Sr., and two businessmen from Manchester, Tennessee, Mr. J.G. Wilkinson and Mr. A.M. Young.

In 1908, the bank organizers purchased another local bank, The First National Bank, and chose to continue doing business under The First National Bank name.

Our current main office opened in 1966, along with our first community offices in Section and Woodville. The Pisgah office opened in 1967, followed by Bridgeport in 1969. Offices in Skyline and Henagar opened their doors in 1986.

FNB converted to a state bank charter in 2007 in order to better serve the local communities and its customers. This change allowed FNB to operate under Alabama’s regulatory system which is among the best in the nation.

In 2017, FNB acquired Peoples State Bank of Commerce, with offices in Tennessee (Nolensville and Ardmore) and Alabama (Grant). At same time, the bank opened an office in Guntersville, Alabama, to broaden its service in Marshall County.

Today, FNB Bank has 13 hometown offices and a team of more than 100 associates serving Alabama and Tennessee. With assets of more than $530 million, we are an active supporter of the communities we serve.

Our staff is knowledgeable, approachable and attentive. FNB offers a full range of products for consumers and businesses, including checking, savings, loans and mortgages. Well-planned investment in technology allows our customers to have safe and secure access to their accounts at any time from almost anywhere.

As FNB has strategically and responsibly expanded into new areas, we remain committed to the core principles and values on which our bank was built. Most importantly, we have stayed true to our focus of improving lives and enriching communities by helping customers reach their financial goals and dreams.

That’s Friendly Neighborhood Banking. That’s FNB.
